1. Who we are
ScamDetector is an iOS application operated by Crestway AI ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what information the app and its backend service handle, and — just as importantly — what we deliberately do not keep.
2. The content you submit for analysis
When you paste, share, or screenshot a message, email, or link to ScamDetector, that content is sent to our analysis service over an encrypted connection so it can be scored for scam risk. (Text from a screenshot is read on your device first; the image itself never leaves your phone.)
This content is processed in memory and discarded the moment the analysis is complete. We do not write it to a database, log it, or retain it in any form. There is no archive of your messages on our servers — by design, the service is stateless.
To produce a verdict, the content may be processed by trusted AI and threat-intelligence providers (for example, large-language-model analysis and phishing-URL lookups). These providers process the content transiently to return a result and are contractually bound not to use it to train models or for their own purposes.
3. No account — the little we keep
ScamDetector has no sign-up. We never ask for your name, phone number, or email. To run the service, our backend keeps only two things, neither tied to your identity:
- an anonymous installation identifier (Apple's identifier-for-vendor), used to enforce the free daily scan limit, and
- your subscription status (free or Plus), so paid features work.
The installation identifier is not linked to any name, phone, or email. Payments are handled entirely by Apple — we never see your card details.
4. What stays on your device
Your scam statistics and past results — counts of what's been caught, risk scores, and summaries — are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded to us. You can clear your history any time from the History tab, and deleting the app removes everything permanently.
5. What we do not do
- We do not require an account, phone number, or email.
- We do not store the content of your messages or emails.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information.
- We do not use advertising or third-party tracking SDKs.
- We do not build advertising or behavioral profiles about you.
6. Children's privacy
ScamDetector is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
7. Your rights
Because we don't retain your content and collect no account information, there is no stored message history or personal profile for us to export or delete. The only data tied to your installation is the anonymous identifier and subscription status in Section 3, which are removed when you delete the app. For any questions about your data, contact us using the details below.
8. Disclaimer — no warranty
ScamDetector provides an automated, AI-generated assessment to help you decide whether a message, email, or link may be a scam. It is a decision aid, not a guarantee. We do not warrant that every result is accurate or complete — a message flagged low-risk could still be harmful, and a message flagged high-risk could be legitimate. Always use your own judgment, and when in doubt, verify directly with the company or person involved using a phone number or website you already trust (never a link or number from the suspicious message). To the fullest extent permitted by law, Crestway AI is not liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on a verdict. ScamDetector is not a substitute for professional, legal, or financial advice.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
